Iguassu - heaven on earth!

Iguassu Falls is located on the triangulated borders of Uruguay, Brasil and Argentina in a tropical rainforest .

It is said that the heavy concentration of negative ions has a positive effect on your state of mind....they are right .. . you can't stop smiling ...the power and the strength of the falls just mesmerises you... and eight hours in a day is just not enough.

The Brazilian side is dramatic and nearly every photo you take has a rainbow!

The individual cataratas  allow you to focus  on the close  up features

The Devil's Mouth creates the roar!
The Argentinian  side made for many photo opportunities for Sandra

and me!

Every corner provoded an opportunity for a new glimpse from a different angle.

Sandra likened this to  a scene from Alfred  Hitchcock's "The Birds "

They are a close relative of the condor and soar above Iguassu on the thermal streams.

Jet boats take  the gullible passengers up the Rio Iguassu...

and then under the powerful, thundering falls to drench them.

Iguassu is full of amazing mariposas that rest on the safety rails not to pose for tourist photos but to collect the salt from the sweat their hands leave on the rails.

Paseoperros of Recoleta

Paseoperros are the dog-walkers of Buenos Aires, they walk up to 15 dogs at once - an unbelievable feat ! Twice a day for two hours.. the Argentinians love their pooches.. but not enough to walk them themselves!!!! The paseoperros even have veterinary training to be able to let the owners know when there may be a problem with their little darlings! They are sometimes a little hard to find but I managed a few shots!
Ten dogs on a pavement walk in Recoleta.

Stop at the kerb for the lights

Right green light and we are off!!

Three is a piece of cake !

Now this is an action shot... at full speed through the parks of Palermo.

That's life in Buenos Aires

David behind the desk at PAX Hostel in Buenos Aires - in a great area called San Telmo. There is always a party ready to happen unless it is Monday night when they all head to La Bomba De Tierre for a night of drumming that is hypnotic!

Kanga Blue checking out the certificates and no Aussie flag

Nico is the charming French guy who works in the dungeon bar at nights. He really wants to head to Australia and I'm sure he will break a few hearts when he arrives!

The mottly crew drinking at PAX.

Yes I passed my week of Spanish School with the craziest teacher - had a  brilliant time !

Peurto Madera is the newest barrio in BA with many similarities to Southbank.

Parrilladas are the fabulous meat eating extravaganzas that are an absolute  must and a vegetarian nightmare.  Sandra was keen to try the vegies - they are hard to find!

Street drumming bands walk through the antique markets at San Telmo.
Recoleta Cemetery where the crowds flock to see Eva's grave- an enthralling walk through the  history of Argentina.

Casa Rosada is the famous house in the centre of Buenos Aires where Eva Peron  came to visit her adoring Argentinians.

Diego is the charming owner of Elefante Rosa Hostal in Buenos Aires  - a gorgeous grand old house with stained glass ceilings and exposed brick walls.

In Spanish the mouth of the river is called La Boca

La Boca is that the old migrant area of BA- similar to East End  in London.- an artistic zone in Buenos Aires that  has atmosphere!!! Everyone there works at the port and has used the leftover paint from painting the ships to brighten up their homes- and some amazing art was created! it is also home to Boca Juniors - the most famous  football team in Argentina.
